Black Architecture
Steve studied architecture at the University of Sheffield, gaining a first. Prior to joining Black he worked at Chetwood Associates on
a number of industrial projects before moving to London where he was the project architect responsible for Sainsbury's pioneering low energy supermarket; shortlisted for the Stirling Prize in 2000.
Steve is responsible for leading the work of our project teams, ensuring that the development potential of sites is maximised and bringing his extensive experience of the construction process to ensure that our projects are well crafted and efficiently delivered. He also supports and mentors students undertaking their professional training with us.
Steve is passionate about all forms of culture and regularly attends theatre, concerts and exhibitions. He enjoys good food and drink and is a very good cook. Travel and the study of foreign cultures interests Steve, and he has recently returned from a rail tour of Norway.
