The reuse of redundant office space to provide urgently needed residential accommodation allows these building to be brought back to economically sustainable use.

The conversion of the former Canon office building in the heart of Wallington town centre offered the opportunity to create accessible residential accommodation directly adjacent to the station, while improving the public realm adjacent to the building by incorporating active retail uses to replace existing surface parking. A wing of new build accommodation adjacent to the railway platforms provides continuity and enclosure to an open sided courtyard development. The scheme is conceived as a vertically integrated, mixed use development, with retail uses inserted into the ground floor of the existing building. The roof of the retail accommodation is designed as a communal residential roof garden for residents to enjoy.
