Construction is underway on a mixed use development alongside the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal in the Queens Park Estate Conservation Area. The scheme provides nine new waterside homes and a remodelled public house.
The dual aspect layouts incorporate internalised ASHP and MVHR technology to provide low carbon conditioning to the apartments, with opportunities to naturally cross ventilate the spaces. A fabric first approach will deliver an airtight and highly insulated skin, supplemented with roof level PV as part of a balanced energy strategy. All the properties enjoy a southerly outlook over the canal, with a mix of inset and Juliette balconies addressing the waterway.
Piling in the new build element is set back from the water edge, allowing the building to cantilever over the 200 year old canal wall without loading the original 19th century brickwork. Construction is due to be completed in mid 2025.
