A new BREEAM Excellent office and amenity block proposal has been submitted to planners at Three Rivers District Council to provide modern facilities for the refuse collection team that are based at the site.
The design uses a series of modular component to enable a high efficiency building to be manufactured off site, that can then be rapidly installed whilst the site remains operational. Once complete the existing facilities will be demolished and space created for the fleet of lorries that will be futureproofed for the next generation of electric vehicles.
The new timber clad building directly addresses the street and replaces a high fenced defensive enclosure with a welcoming garden space for staff and visitors. Existing trees are brought into the scheme, enhancing their setting for both local residents and council depot workers.
