12 years after completing the BREEAM Excellent headquarters for the charity CAFOD, Black Architecture have been invited to assist with refurbishing the building to reflect a post Covid environment.
The building was deigned for an expanding workforce, but now needs to cope with different working patterns and lower occupancy. The flexible open plan office spaces adapt well to this brief with opportunities for touchdown working to activate the atrium and kitchen areas, allowing quiet working to return along the perimeter of the floors. A clean desk policy will be complemented with the addition of new textures and colours throughout, retaining the vibrancy of the space that had evolved in the first period of its occupation.
The team are joined by Academy Consulting who are providing cost advise and project management services to ensure that the budget is spent wisely at a time when resources are stretched.
