Black are a founding signatory of a wide ranging group of built environment organisations that have pledged to end the use of gas in the projects that we will work on.
The commitment to refuse to assist with developments or the promotion of new projects that involve the installation of gas or fossil fuel heating systems is taken now to address the climate emergency. Emissions need to be cut 40-60% below 2010 levels by 2030 if the 1.5oC tipping point is to be avoided. Switching to gas free systems is a key part of this pledge and has been adopted on both our private and public sector projects over the last two years across a range of residential and commercial office schemes.
