When planning officers asked if we had any questions in response to 2016 pre-application advice, they weren’t expecting a reply over 5 years later. The original case officer generously picked up the request and provided valuable guidance.
A long gestation period, delayed through Covid lockdowns, gained new momentum when RLB joined the Sports Consortium to provide financial and project management support. The given impetus enabled the original designs, prepared by Black, to be updated in readiness for a planning submission and a wider consultancy team appointed. Resources were generously supplied at reduced costs by RGP, Syntegra and Eight Associates to enable a successful planning application to be made.
Lewisham Sports Consortium have recently won the 2022 BBC Community Group Make a Difference Award, providing valuable publicity to the project. When consent is granted, fundraising will re-commence to get the community hub built. You can read more about BBC’s Make a Difference Award evening here
