The next phase of the Morley College masterplan is taking a step closer to becoming reality as funding is sought under the FECTF programme for major works within the heart of the Waterloo complex.
This phase will insert a new core that allows level access to 7 different storeys within the complex spatial arrangement at the rear of the college. The design also allows a single democratic entrance to be delivered into the Emma Conns Hall for the first time, ensuring that those with reduced mobility do not have to use a separate entrance.
The refurbished multi-purpose hall will utilise a low carbon underfloor ventilation, improving comfort for occupants and reducing the risk of Covid 19 transmission. New music practice rooms and a linear amenity space to display art that overlooks the inner courtyard complete the mix.
