HCC hosted the annual Hertfordshire Climate Change and Sustainability Partnership and Local Area Retrofit Accelerator workshop in November at their Stevenage Development Centre, bringing together stakeholders from across the county.

The event provided an opportunity to discuss the initiatives that were taking place across the county and to identify what was preventing the retrofit programme from being expanded rapidly across Hertfordshire. Representatives from Regional and Local Government, industry, educators and home providers offered their views in a series of round table sessions, with separate workshops then initiated to test the vision that was to be adopted and taken forwards.

The event highlighted the gaps that exist between the planning system and retrofit delivery network, with heritage assets and schools having layers of approval processes to address. A process Black are challenging across Hertfordshire.
