Working in partnership with CRASH and Arcadis, Black have developed a series of respite bedroom options to secure Wolfson Foundation Funding at the children’s hospice facility.
The proposals will deliver bedrooms for parents and family of children cared for at the hospice, offering a private space away from the main facilities. Initial ideas suggested a pair of bedrooms with a communal facility to replicate facilities elsewhere in the building, however opportunity was seen to develop something special. The design proposes two independent studio room suites with bedrooms slightly elevated and orientated to face out towards the trees.
Creating a tranquil space to relax and escape for a moment fulfilled the aspirations of the brief in an unexpected way, Wolfson and CRASH funding will make it a reality.
