Declan Palmer attended this year’s Hertfordshire Housing Conference, which took place at the Fielder Centre in Hatfield. The conference focuses on topics surrounding affordable housing solutions in Hertfordshire and promotes innovation.
The agenda featured a review of how the economy was impacting the housing sector and included a panel discussion on improved procurement for homes, with Gavin Smart of the Chartered Institute of Housing delivered the keynote speech. Workshops looked at local growth, MMC and Wellbeing, all critical subjects being addressed by the practice. Black attended the Net Zero Carbon workshop and have subsequently jointly instigated a group that includes local Housing Associations to find common, cost effective solutions to address the topics within future projects.
As we seek new residential solutions to address high demand and challenging environmental factors, the lessons learnt from Hertfordshire’s past ground breaking housing schemes and previous conference debates, will be increasing valuable.
