Revised proposals have been submitted to Enfield Borough Council for the upward extension of offices at South Point House Southgate to provide additional open plan workspace.
The third floor plan adopts the principles of the newly constructed lower floors with stair access gained from a shared core that serves the existing residential building on the site. Toilets and kitchens are also set within the shell of the original structure. The new lift shaft is raised to provide full accessibility to the top floor. A set back edge is introduced to maintain daylight to surrounding properties and increase the openness of the shared surface access lane.
The proposals optimise the use of a brownfield site located adjacent to the Grade II* listed London Underground Station designed by Charles Holden, without impact to the heritage asset.
