Plans for an expanded aparthotel on Charlotte Street have been approved by Camden Council allowing the operator to take over the ground, lower ground and basement floors of the building.
The proposals replace a ground floor office space with a new hotel reception that can serve drinks to the street terrace, and introduce a new fully accessible bedroom to the rear of the floorplan. A family room is created within the lower ground floor space looking out into a small courtyard, and a lounge and kitchen inserted into the original basement storage space. The communal facilities take advantage of new pavement lights to create an intimate space in the heart of Fitzrovia.
As part of the wider retrofit that is planned for the building windows will be upgraded throughout the building and a new frontage created with wrought iron railings that reflects the character of the local conservation area.
