The seven new homes which address the former crime ridden lane conceal a communal rear garden for residents.
The low carbon properties provide the new residents with private amenity space on individual roof terraces and small rear patios, but give over most of the site to a soft landscaped communal garden with mature planting. A green roofed secure cycle shelter connects the garden with the lane and leads to a shared barbeque space sheltered behind the perimeter walls.
Eliminating garden barriers was identified as an aspiration in the Governments Home for 2030 contest, but has been delivered 10 year ahead of time with this development in Lambeth.
