New individual bathrooms have been delivered at The Winchester Beacon homeless hostel replacing the original outdated and communal facilities.
Dean Catherine Ogle of Winchester Cathedral officially opened the bathrooms which supplement the 10 bedrooms that are made available to the homeless who are on their journey to finding more permanent accommodation that matches their needs. In addition to providing safe and comfortable spaces the charity offers hot food cooked on the premises and a wide ranging support programme aimed at breaking the cycle of homelessness.
Black designed the compact bathrooms based on private residential standards to include underfloor heating, integrated storage, wall hung toilets and fully concealed services. The spaces are high quality, easy to maintain and democratic.
