The London Borough of Lewisham have approved proposals for a community centre designed by Black Architecture for Lewisham Sports Consortium, after seven years of working with the charity.
Black were appointed in 2016 to find a long term solution that would replace the Sport’s charity’s worn out facilities at Firhill Road with a new building to support their ambitious activities in the neighbourhood. LSC provide valuable support and mentoring to children and young adults form black and minority ethnic community, with funding partially coming from the running of football pitches at the site. The new home offers more space and expands the services that the team can offer.
With consent now secured fundraising is required to develop the technical design and head towards construction. Having stuck with the charity through the years we relish the challenge ahead of getting the building project up and running.
