Construction work on an extended and refurbished building close to Nine Elms Underground Station is nearing completion. Work has been undertaken around leasehold residents and retailers on the ground floor.
The new homes replace existing sub-standard accommodation with more spacious apartments by combining elements of the original homes and adding two new wings to the rear of the property. External insulation and new render is applied over the original building fabric and windows replaced with new double glazed units as part of a strategy to improve performance by 35% above Building Regulations. At roof level, the extensions offer generous terraces which can be accessed by the residents to provide outdoor amenity. Whist at lower ground floor levels a wheelchair specification house is added to an existing mews terrace
The scheme includes in on a tight urban site, maximising the use of underused brownfield land in close proximity to a new transport hub.
